Following our first failed icsi resulting in a chemical pregnancy I was unprepared to hear that the embryologist had commented that my eggs were "fragile"! After several attempts to get to the bottom of this with both the embryologist and my dr I'm none the wiser. I'm wondering what causes this? Is this something you would come across in someone my age? (I'm 38 yrs old) does this mean I have an issue with the quality of my eggs? I was informed that I had a mix in quality of embryos, although 3 progressed to day 5 one (medium grade) didn't make it to freeze and the other two (graded high & low) were transfered. Also is this something you could treat?

p.s I'm sorry if im posting this question in the wrong place.

thank you Dr braverman for your time.

Thank you for your speedy reply.

i should have given a bit of background maybe, but anyway ive had two laparoscopys (different Drs) and endometriosis wasn't identified. I know this may sound dumb but can you still have endometriosos then? I haven't been diagnosed with pcos either. My AMH is 12.8, which I was told was "normal" for my age. The only thing out of range that has come up for me was slightly elevated ata (4.82) and my tft's so far are "normal". My DH has DNA frag of 17.9%.

thanks again

where do you live? I have many patients with a lap to rule out endo that end up having it.

I live in Ireland. That's interesting. I say that because before we started IVF we were doing napro technology and my napro Dr couldn't understand why I continued to had brown bleeding before and after my period despite all treatments that they would prescribe to treat it. He was the Dr who sent me for the second lap. I suppose if I had silent endometriosis I wouldn't have "symptoms". However I feel I had an early miss early on this year and a couple of cycles after that again before I commenced ivf I had no brown bleeding. This whole journey is mind boggling.

thank you so much

I would suggest getting our full immune panel , the diagnosis of endometriosis is many times quite clear from that (see our blog on silent endo). Or you could just fill out the conuslt form and we cans schedule a SKYPE discussion.
