Dear Dr. Braverman, I just suffered my 3rd miscarriage after the birth of my son in May 2013 and was curious to see that you may be able to help people in my situation. I had my son at 35 and his pregnancy (my first) was normal- no spotting or complications, except for an unexplained ante partum bleed that caused him to be induced at 37.5 weeks. He was delivered vaginally with forceps and is perfectly healthy. Since then I had a loss in May 2015 at 4.5 weeks, another in August 2015 at 6 weeks, and the most recent which was a missed abortion picked up at my 12 week ultrasound. It was 6 weeks in size. I miscarried naturally a few days later. I have been tested for clotting and immune issues which came back normal. This past pregnancy I was taking baby aspirin and progesterone. We are waiting for the results of genetic tests done last week. I have been told that it is just my age- I am 38 now, and to keep trying, that the embryos were likely genetically abnormal, and I have a 50/50 chance of success in future pregnancies. I am in good health. My husband is 46. But is it possible that something else is at play here with the first born male theory, and is there any way to test for or treat it? Or is it too early for me to explore that avenue? Many thanks, Cara.

Yes this is very suspicious for HY restricting alleles. I can test for this. Please fill out a consult form from my website and we can schedule a free consult with me to discuss your case in detail.

there are autoimmune issues that could be at play here , especially with the family history of Hashimotos. I would suggest filling out a consult form on our website so we can discuss your case in detail.
