Hello Dr. Braverman,

I've read a lot about you and your ground breaking work, and hope you'll answer some of my questions. I'm 37 years old and got pregnant three times in last one year with all 3 pregnancies ending in miscarriages (2 out of 3 were biochemical pregnancies). The last pregnancy was FET (5 day blastocyst) while the first two were natural. I clearly don't have a problem getting pregnant but am unable to sustain a pregnancy. My RE has done have some blood tests and all looks OK according to him, but there was one data point that caught my attention (even though the nurse said to ignore it) - my White Blood Cell (WBC) count show as high. These below numbers were taken when I was not pregnant, not miscarrying, or having periods.

WBC = 19.6

RBC = 5.31

Neutrophils (Absolute) = 16.3

Monocytes (Absolute) = 1.2

Are these counts alarming? Could they indicate an immune system issues that is linked to my miscarraiges?

Thanks for your time.

Anji

Yes the count should not be 19.6 . It could be elevated with a recent pregnancy or if you are on steroids. It could also represent an inflammatory disorder that yes could be playing a part in your losses. I would be happy to review your case with you , simply fill out a consult form on the website and we can schedule a free consult by phone or SKYPE.
