Dear Dr Braverman,

I am really hoping you can help me, i have just recently suffered my 2nd anembryonic/blighted ovum pregnancy in the past 4 months and i am struggling to get answers from anyone. All my doctor tells me is it's more than likely chromosomal and they wont even consider testing unless i've had 3!!. This upsets me alot as me and my partner are both only 28 and didn't expect this at all. After reading numerous articles on blighted ovums it seems this is usually a "one off" and shouldnt reoccur unless me or my partner have genetic problems. I am so worried that if that is the cause then there is nothing that can be done to "fix" it.
Any advice you can give me would be hugely appreciated. I don't know where else to turn.

Hi Lynsey,

I agree that at your age 2 blighted ovum is unusual and warrants a complete workup to decrease the chances of having a third. The good news is that almost everything we find can be corrected so you should not worry that your situation is one that cant be treated, as most can.
Feel free to call my office and set up a telephone consultation, I would be happy to guide you through your workup and assist in your treatment, we can accomplish this anywhere in the world.
If you do call the office 516 584 8710 ask for Kim our patient coordinator. We will make 2011 a great year for you.
