Good evening, Dr. Braverman!

I am just recently 29 years old and have had 3 miscarriages in less than a year. I first found out that I was pregnant last July. This pregnancy, we found out, was an ectopic. I had surgery and the dr. removed the pregnancy in my tube and conserved both of my tubes, thankfully. Later on, in November, I found out that I was pregnant again, and at around 7 weeks, I naturally miscarried. Again, in January, I found out that I was pregnant, and this time, with twins. Everything was going really well, we had seen healthy heart beats, seen the ultrasounds, and I was experiencing symptoms of a healthy pregnancy. As I had gone in for my 12 week appointment, I was told that there were no heart beats and that the babies stopped growing at or around the 9-10 week mark. My husband and I have both undergone a slew of tests and everything has come back normal. Even the amniocentesis that was performed with the twins showed that they were fraternal and there were no chromosomal abnormalities. We are both at a complete loss and are just praying for a healthy pregnancy. What could possibly be causing this? I am now seeing a specialist at Northwestern University Medical Faculty Foundation in Chicago, IL, but he is saying that this could all be associated with "bad luck." At this point, he says that there is nothing that stands out as to being the cause for my losses, and because they were all so different, there is no pattern to look for. I cannot continue to go through this, pay these astronomical fees, and be left with no answers. Please help!

Very simply with chromosomal normal losses, this is very likely to be implantation in nature. The normal workup that we do for our immunology patients needs to be performed on you . Although other issues such as thrombophilia could play a part Im sure this part of the workup has already been done. Please call my office abnd ask for Jackie, she will assist you in scheduling a consultation for you . Im confident I can at least find the reasons for your losses and most likely treat you successfully. I look forward to being of service to you.
