Hello Dr Braverman

Would an ethnically mixed couple be less likely to have an HLA match or does racial group and ethinicity not play a role?

I'm trying to establish whether the DQa genotype test is necessary for my husband & I after recurrent early losses, if not we can focus on other immune tests. I am of Indian origin and my husband is English Caucasian.

Thanks for taking the time to answer!

Regards

although less likely we still find many HLA matches with mixed couples so it should be included in your workup.
