Dr. Braverman,

If there is moderate sperm DNA fragmentation, what do you suggest for an IVF/ICSI cycle (assuming antioxidants and vitamin therapy has already been tried)?

Is TESA the day of retrieval suggested? (Testicular Epipdymal Sperm Aspiration)

Thank you.

no I dont think that will help , new research has shown that by ejaculating every day for 5 days before ICSI significantly decreases the amount of DNA fragmentation. the theory being that the less time fresh sperm is exposed to the poor environment the less time there is to fragment.

Hi Dr Braverman,

In this instance, should the man take a break the day before giving his sample (i.e. ejaculate for five days, then take a break of one day, and then give his sample on egg-retrieval day)? Or should he continue straight through without a break? There seems to be conflicting advice and I trust you to give me the best advice! My husband's DNA fragmentation level is 37%.

Many thanks...
