Dear Dr.BravermanApologies in advance for the long message.I'm interested to know how you would use Letrozole in a FET for patients who ovulate normally? Would you use HRT along side it during the follicular phase, or would you just add it to a natural cycle in the same way as you would use it for ovulation induction?Which days would you use it on in a patient with a 28/29 day cycle?Do you think it would still be beneficial even if endometriosis has been suppressed by pregnancy which was followed by long term breastfeeding (no periods until 12months post partum)? My periods eventually returned 3 months ago when I dropped all but 1 feed and I'm thinking of going for a FET sooner rather than later whilst my endometriosis is still suppressed but my Consultant is unsure if there are any benefits of using letrozole. It took me a while to convince them to prescribe it for me on the successful fresh cycle too ( I had a laparoscopy just prior to that) but they eventually did and i fell pregnant after multiple failures. So I'm now wondering if I should take it again with FET. What ate your views on this? Many thanks in advanceForever gratefulLucky S

Yes I would use it again , once you are on suppressive meds so the letrazole does not cause you to ovulate.

Thank you Dr.Braverman

So the cycle would looke something like this : downregulation and then start Estrogen for lining preparation and then we add Femara alongside it is that right?

Some places are going for an ovulation induction with Femara, monitor ovulation and transfer 5 days later ( assuming a blastocyst transfer) - just wondering what are the benefits of the above downregulation method to the more "natural" approach of using Femara only ?

Thanks again
regards
LS

Im really fine either way , its just a matter of scheduling convenience with the down regulation .
