PCOS, Miscarriage and Myo-Inositol
What are PCOS and Myo-Inositol?
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) occurs when a woman some form of insulin
resistance and can lead to many other symptoms. Common symptoms for PCOS
include menstrual cycle changes, difficulty conceiving, recurrent miscarriages,
unexplained infertility and other health concerns. What is most interesting
is that MANY cases of PCOS only have a few of the symptoms and is one
the most common missed diagnosis that we see at our clinic. progesterone levels.
Many patients with PCOS have associated immune issues and blood clotting
issues caused by the insulin and glucose imbalances. These need to be
addressed to have the maximal effect on preventing miscarriages and treating
the infertility associated with PCOS.
Thus, women with PCOS may have great difficulty getting pregnancy. Additionally,
women with PCOS are likely to experience pregnancy loss. Myo-inositol
is a substance much like vitamin B. It is used to help women with PCOS
conceive and may also help avoid miscarriage. Although evidence suggests
that Myo-Inositol is helpful, many people are confused as to how to use
it properly. It has excellent anti-inflammatory properties and reduces
much of the inflammation associated with the immune component of PCOS.
