Here at Braverman Reproductive Immunology we are working jointly with a major reproductive immunology laboratory to compile a list of the most common "polymorphisms" (abnormally shaped molecules that dont carry out their correct function), that are coded for in a patients DNA and are linked to recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL). This will assist in the production of a new microchip that will allow us to perform a blood test and look at which of the hundreds of polymorphisms we have identified that may patients have and that will allow us to better target our treatments for our patients. This is going to be a big breakthrough in our field.

Some examples that have been discussed in our literature review on this site are polymorphisms of Progesterone receptors , Beta HCG , NK cell receptors, HLA G molecules, Mannose Binding protien, to name just a few.

ONCE AGAIN WE BELIEVE THIS WILL CONTINUE TO GIVE US ANSWERS WHEN NONE HAVE BEEN FOUND BEFORE.

Hi Dr. Braverman,

I always wondered if women with recurrent pregnancy loss would have a tag on our DNA. Are you looking for blood samples to conduct your research?

Depending upon what is involved, this is something I would consider (and I have a friend who may also be interested).

I do not plan on having any more biological children, but I am willing to help with research if it will help women in the future.

Please let me know-

Thx for volunteering. This DNA screen is very new and will help us identify those that truley have immune issues at the root of their problems. There may come a time when we may want to go back over our cases and ask a few isolated cases to come in for testing to see if they have the polymorphism we suspect from their immune findings and case history.
Hope all is well with your family give my regards.
