I am 41 and have been dealing with secondary infertility for nearly five years. I have six children from my 20's and early 30's. When we started IVF I was 36 and had a three year old we conceived the old fashioned way. (vasectomy is what sent us to IVF) I have also been a successful egg donor when I was 25 & 26. We did 15 IVF cycles with my eggs and about half with donor sperm before we moved on to donor eggs. I did not get pregnant even once with my own eggs. (some cycles were PGD, some were not) My first five cycles with donor eggs/sperm I got pregnant. I had five early miscarriages. The last required a D&C. After the D&C I asked for an operative hysteroscopy where they did find some scar tissue from my D&C and strangely a uterine septum, all was removed. I did two fresh donor egg cycles after that, both times putting back three perfect embryos, hatched beautifully with a perfect lining, no implantation. I have APS and take aspirin and Lovenox 40 IU twice a day (two weeks before ET for the Lovenox, aspirin for life) I have one copy MTHFR and take Matanx for life. My Rhuematologist has me on Planqunil 400 daily. I also take 5,000 IU of Vitamin D-3 and finally have a good level. We did Intarlipids on our last three cycles due to some borderline NK cells that came down nicely with the Intralipids. I also take 50 mg of synthroid to keep my thyroid under 2.0. The immunologist had me on steroids for a full month before my last two transfers. (started at 10 mg a day worked up to 30 mg a day by transfer) I am not sure what else is even out there for us. Clearly something has changed in my body and it seems to me is it auto immune. We are using donor sperm and eggs and different donors each time, so no matches. LOL I am now cycling overseas as we just can't afford any more donor egg cycles in the US. Is there any reason for me to do a phone consult with you or am I a lost cause?
Thanks!!

Not lost at all , call me your history certainly qualifies you for our new pilot treatment program with neupogen. I agree there is certainly an immune issue, I would love to see my immune panel and also discuss whether you would need a trial of IVIG or even LIT if you are going over seas.

Thank you Dr. Braverman. I will definitely call you.
I can't afford IVIG at this point, so I hope that is not required. I will be interested to hear about your thoughts on LIT. The others I have spoken to said that was not necessary. I thought it was based on my doing donor egg and donor sperm, but maybe it was based on my immune tests. Who knows, there is little agreement it seems on these things : )
I look forward to doing your immune work up. So new hope would be great!

Ok, I would need to see your LAD levels to decide on need for LIT , Ill assume they were positive and that you show a mostly cellular component to your losses. After our panel Ill give you a much better idea on your therapy. Fortunately neupogen is usually covered by insurance.

Look forward to helping you .
