Cerclage

Dr B,

what are your thoughts on cervical cerclages? Do you think they are helpful in cases of previous PPROM? Can immune issues cause PPROM? If so and immune issues are treated, is a Cerclage still necessary? Or is it better just to have in place just in case?

PPROM by itself is not an indication for cerclage, and yes immune issues can casue PPROM and a cerclage wont help that. Since I dont have all the facts of the case I cant tell you whether you need a cerclage and that should up to your doctor.
