Dear Dr Braverman,

What is your opinion about dhea and immunological problems? I have read that dhea boosts the immune system..?

Have you heard about Irap (Interleukin-1 Receptor Antagonist Protein) for endometriosis patients?

Regards
Maria

yes I have heard both . The statement that something boosts the immune system is very vague as there are so many parts of the immune system that have so many varied functions. What were you hoping to treat witht the DHEA.

IRAP is one of many theoretical treatments for endometriosis. I dont have any experience with it here at our practice. Is there a specific question about it I can answer for you.

Thank you so much!

Well, women use dhea to improve their egg quality although I know you state that it´s not possible but maybe to increase the quantity. But if it boosts the immune system it´s not very helpful....

What do you think about the combination Intralipids and Irap for a patient with endometriosis and many failed IVFs?

due to increased NKa activity with endometriosis , intralipids have been shown to be helpful, but you would need to have a full immune profile before hand as I always warn over suppression could cuase problems as well. I suspect the IRAP would be helpful as well , I have not used that in my pracitce so I cant give you a fair opinion on this.
