Dear Dr. Braverman,
I had read another woman's post here about having a dormant herpes virus break out in the form of shingles after using intralipids/steroids during her fertility treatment. Have you had much experience with this or any other infections happening during these treatments? I am also curious to know if the first intralipid infusion is prior to or after egg retrieval in an IVF cycle.Thank you, as always, for your expertise., yours Nora Cage

No I have not had a case of shingles in my patients, but in theory any suppression of the immune system would make that more likely(again but not common)

I give the ILs prior to Transfer(its onset of action is much quicker thatn people beleive and can have an effect hours after administration so not critical if just before or just after ER.
