Dr Braverman,

We transferred one pgs tested euploid embryo and had a chemical pregnancy. I carry the mthfr gene and a carrier for factor 5. I only did baby asa prior to transfer. I have history of elevated ana (532) and a recheck two weeks later the ana level was 45. I did a rheumatology workup and negative for any other autoimmune disease. I do have hypothyroidism. Any thoughts about what further testing can be done?

Thank you

Ashley

you clearly have an autoimmune issue, and this could also affect the behaviour of even a PGD normal embryo (see my blog on CRAMS). I suggest you fill out a consult request on the website and we will schedule a free consult so we can review your case on detail.

That's a very interesting blog, and i have never heard of anything like that. The dr's told me that I have polycystic ovaries, but do not meet any other criteria. I have a normal amh, but only produced 14 eggs, and 8 eggs for IVF stims. I have a phone consult on November 3rd, look forward to talking with you more.

A chemical pregnancy is like a cruel joke. You take an early pregnancy test around the time your period is due and it shows a faint positive. Naturally, you get excited and start spreading the joyful news that you're expecting. Then, a few days later you get your period and the doctor says, "It was just a chemical pregnancy."
