hcg dose

I have a question regarding the efficacy of varying doses of hcg. Is 10,000 iu more effective at triggering ovulation than 5000 iu? I know that the larger dose hangs around longer and helps to increase luteal estrogen and progesterone, but I'm wondering if it is any more effective simply as a trigger for ovulation than 5000 iu would be.

Thanks!
Sophie

We have found in the past the higher doses may actually help with the last stage of meiosis and help retrieve a higher number of good quality embryos. However most studies have shown little difference in success with 5000 or 10000.
