Intralipid versus SMOFlipid

Dear Dr. Braverman,
I'm from Hungary, have been following your posts as my husband and I have been going through round after round of unsuccessful IVFs and then donor inseminations.

This round, we decided to add Intralipid, and an emergency situation arose that I'd very much appreciate your advice about. It turns out that one cannot purchase specifically Intralipid in Hungary, and I found out (only after the infusion) that my well-meaning doctor got me SMOFlipid (also fresenius kabi, 200 mg/ml, 2 bottles) instead (within 1 bottle: 6g soya oil, 6g medium chain triglycerides, 5g olive oil, 3g fish oil, plus glycerol, egg lecithin). I didn't find any reference at all to SMOFlipid and infertility, so I went ahead to obtain the actual suff, Intralipid, from Slovakia. My question is: given that I received 400mg of SMOFlipid on day7 and the insemination is expected for day15, should I, in order to make the most of this cycle, receive the Intralipid on day 9? Would it be safe to get that much lipid in me? Or do you think the SMOFlipid (shmintralipid, as I now call it :) ) can be expected to have a comparable effect as Intralipid does? My lab results for liver enzymes and lipids are all perfect.

Your advice would be enormously helpful.Yours sincerely,
nnn

I think based on the ingredients you should have comparable effect, I would not do another IL at this time. Good Luck.
