IVF and Prednisone

Hi Dr, B,

Why do you think so many RE's at the bigger clinics are so against prescribing Prednisone after IVF retrieval? I'm at one of the bigger clinics in NYC and they only prescribe Medrol and Zpack during retrieval. I tested for immune issues but you didn't consider them high enough to be abnormal however, when I did a IUI with you you prescribed Prednisone. It was a chemical but still pretty good considering I never got preg on an IUI. Unfortunately I didn't do this IVF cycle with you because of certain circumstances although I think you are really one of the most knowledgeable RE's I've encountered!!! But If this round doesn't work for me I'll be in touch. When I asked my current RE about the prednisone he said that there was no reason (even with endometriosis and two mc's) that he should prescribe it.

Hi Kat, Im sorry this cycle didnt work for you . There are several things you need to do in an IVF cycle in patients with endo to improve outcome. I dont know why your RE is against prednisone as it has been shown to be helpful in these cases. I hope it works out for you . Thank you for the kind words. Im here if you need me.
