Hello, I've had the misfortune of suffering 3 recurrent late misacarriages - 1 at 20 weeks and 2 at 16 weeks. I live in London with my husband and we have a healthy 3.5 year old boy who I carried to term without any problems aside from severe sickness up to 20 weeks.

After my 2nd miscarriage a series of tests were run and it was 'found' that I had high levels of NK cells and was subsequently treated with steriods, IVIG transfusion, progesterone, heparin for my 3rd pregnancy. All was going fine until 16 weeks when another scan found that my baby had died. Once again the 'experts' in the UK have been unable to find the reason why this is happening.

All chromosonal tests have come back clear, blood clotting tests etc also came back with no positive result or answer for what has gone wrong.

If you can offer an alternative test or theory on what is causing my babies to die late on in pregnancy I would be so grateful as I'm going out of my mind with anxiety and depression over why this keeps happening.

Hoping for an answer!

Melissa.

I am very sorry for your losses. There are many reasons for these late losses after a successful first pregnancy , especially when they are a male first born. (Read laureljeana under patient experiences). Most are due to significant HLA matching or the carriage of a HY restricting allele in the mother that can prevent successful pregnancies after a first born male child. KIR NK receptor mismatches and HLA C polymorphisms(different shapes) can also lead to these problems. I would love to have the opportunity to help you.
