Hi Dr. Braverman,

I saw a post regarding letrozole use in IVF/FET from a couple years ago. Is this a therapy you are continuing to use in your practice and finding effective for endometriosis patients? I'm curious to hear how you use this for out of town patients for a FET. It seems that all I've been able to find in the literature is that it's been successfully used in natural cycle lining prep, which doesn't seem like it would be feasible for planning/traveling purposes. I have endometriosis and have long thought that using letrozole should have a positive impact on implantation...we actually used this during an injectible/IUI cycle so I understand how it works there to increase FSH and LH...and kept our follistim cost down. But I don't quite understand how this fits into FET, which is our next step. I understand that you handle all IVF/FET procedures in your office, and we are currently working on figuring out the logistics and local OB support of transferring to your care.

Letrazole helps increase surface "adhesive" protiens in the uterine cavity that are deficient in patients with endometriosis. Of course there are other immune issues that would need to be addressed as well. Feel free to send in a consult request and we can schedule a free 10 minute chat to reveiw your case and how we can help you.
