I have the Homozygous MTHFR mutation and it has been recommended that I take 5mg folic acid, however I have heard that people with this mutation cannot metabolise folic acid. I can't seem to get any straight answers on this. Do you know more?

Instead I have been taking 800mcg l-methylfolate. Is this enough?

Best is to take on tablet per day of Metanx. this is prescripiton so you would need your doctor to order it.
