Hi Dr. Braverman,I am wondering what you would advise in my situation. I have had repeated miscarriages after a healthy child. I have some blood clotting issues, for which I am taking lovenox. I also worked to get a healthy lining with estrogen and progesterone support. However, the one question I still have about treatment is with respect to elevated NK cells and cytokines.

Here are some of my results (I'm listing 6 different times of testing when not pregnant)NK cells 50:1 23.3, 13.1, 17, 19.6, 14.5, 18.7 (should be less than 15)
NK % CD56 5.9, 5.6, 4.8, 5.1, 6.5, 13.2 (should be less than 12)My Th1:Th2 TNF numbers range from 25 to 32.9 (should be less than 30.6)

Despite hesitations about the treatment, I have tried IVIg twice. Both times my numbers have gone up. Since the NK cells 50:1 seem to be the ones that are a concern for me, I will just present this info:

Feb Before: 14.5
6 days After: 24.3 (this also raised TNF to 36.5)
another week later: 11.7

June before: 18.7
6 days after: 20.5

I've been told that I should also have IVIg again after a positive pregnancy test, but I'm concerned about whether this is a good idea since the numbers go up?Please help!! Thank you for your kindness in answering! :)

May I ask where you are being treated? I think to make a decision on correct treatment you need more detail in your immune testing. Im not surprised by the NKa numbers as they tend to be the most volatile of all the results and many things can elevate them. Also it can sometimes take 2 weeks for the IVIG to exert its affect.
