Preterm labor at 13 and 15 weeks

My water broke last April at 13 weeks very suddenly. I had had a small amount of bleeding off and on throughout the trimester, but it had stopped several weeks before the miscarriage. I had an NT scan the week before and everything looked great, and an appointment with my OB 2 days prior to losing him, with a normal heartbeat and no other complaints.

I got pregnant again the following year after trying for about 4 months. I, again, had some minimal bleeding off and on. I did have several bacterial infections and the day before losing him was seen for a yeast infection. It was noted at that time that I had a little bit of blood during the internal exam, so I was sent for an u/s. My cervix was measured, and the baby monitored, no problems were noted. That night, I started having contractions and was advised by the on-call dr to take some tylenol and apply heat. The next afternoon, I started to have regular contractions and was taken to the emergency room where I had another u/s done. This showed that I was actively miscarrying. I delivered him several hours later.

The basic testing on both boys was normal, and I was tested for clotting disorders, which was also normal.

I have a healthy daughter, who was born 2 1/2 years ago after a fairly normal pregnancy. I had high blood pressure throughout and was placed on labetolol (?) towards the end of my pregnancy. She was born at just over 38 weeks.

My OB has been trying to set up consults with specialists in the area, but it seems the Reproductive Endocrinologists don't feel I would benefit by meeting with them and the MFM's are not really sure where to go with me.

I haven't had much testing, and the general consensus is that this is not very common.

Thank you for your quick response. I just wanted to add that I have had some testing done, but only after losing my first in April of 2012. I'm not sure what was involved in that testing, other than clotting disorders.

I also have a history of another loss in my 20's that ended at approx 12 weeks. I have no idea how far along I was as I'd sought no prenatal care prior to that u/s.

We are about 4-5 hours from NY (depending on where your office is), do you require consults in person on out of state cases?

If you are out of state we can not do a telephone consultation , also if I do not physically see you in NY I can not order ant treatments. I think it would be worth your while to make the drive so we can try to get you some answers.
If this is not possible , you can have your local OB/GYN email me for a consultation and we can work through them.
