Questions about consultation

Hi Dr. Braverman,

I'm interested in scheduling a consultation, but I have some questions.

I live many, many states away, and I understand that you work with out of state patients. Can I ask what you would provide for my doctor, in the way of guiding my treatment? Would it be written, or in some other form? I have a good doctor that would like to help me, but I'm FAR out of his range of expertise.

I have 2 children, age 14 and almost 20. I've been having recurrent miscarriages for 11 years, but my doctor has always told me to keep trying. We've done various bloodwork (not nearly as extensive as what you order), but everything has always come back negative, except that I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2003.

My other question involves the fact that I am pregnant right now at 6w4d. I had a beta HCG test done yesterday with a level that is low for where I'm at, so I'm sure this will be yet another miscarriage. How long after this pregnancy is finished would bloodwork show accurate results? IE how long would I need to wait to complete the blood work.

Thank you for your help.

actually the best information I would get is during a miscarriage, I will get to see how the immune system is interacting with one of your pregnancies. you should call right away so we can get this testing ordered for you. I will convey our recommendations to your local MD in whatever manner makes him most comfortable, letter, fax, email for phone call.

Thank you for your reply. I will call your office tomorrow.

What kind of timeframe are you booking consultations these days? Weeks? Months?

Dr. Braverman -- thank you for speaking with me this afternoon. I think I'm still in shock that you said you were optimistic. I feel like I don't even know how to react - -it's been such a long road of "hopeless" for so many years.

Of course after we hung up, I had a couple of questions, based on what you thought your recommendations would end up being. You mentioned Lovenox and prednisone as being a possible solution. Would these be something taken after confirmation of a pregnancy, or before, or some combination thereof?

Thank you!!

These would be taken prior to conception.
