Hello Doctor,

I live in the UK but am due to do IVF in Poland at the beginning of April. The clinic have requested that I have a Hep B Vaccine prior to any egg collection. I think this is because Hep B virus is considered 'intermediate' there. I would be taking a fast track vaccination with jabs on day 0, 7 and 21 and then a booster in a year.

Will this make my already elevated NK cells go through the roof or not? My doctor there says no but she's not an immunologist and I couldn't see the immunolgist while in Poland. I normally treat my raised NK with prednisolone and Intralipids tho after 5 weeks they are back up again/

I would be so grateful for your comments.

Katie

any vaccination can activate the immune system raising key cytokines such as IL=6 but the levels from a vaccine are far lower than if you contracted it. I am sure this is common practice at thier clinic. why not delay the ER until after this settles down.
