Hi Dr B

I am in South Africa and have been referred by one friend who will be starting on your treatment.I am 28 years old.My story of recurrent losses started in 2005 with a miscarriage at 7 week no D& C.I went on to have a healthy pregnancy with no complications and had a son in November 2005.
2nd loss in June 2007 at 12w, D & C tested for lupus and blood clotting-nothing wrong.Nothing wrong with fetus too.
3rd loss March 2009 at 13w,D & C.I had been taking ecotrin and calcium supplements 2weeks before loss
4th loss September 2009 at 11w,D& C.Tests on umbilical cord indicated found some inflammation.
5th loss December 2009 at 4w, no D& C
6th loss November 2010 at 11w,D&C.Test on fetus indicated nothing wrong.Still awaiting results on placenta and umbilical cord.I was on antibiotics (on and off),calcium supplements and prenatal vitamins from 4weeks.

I also work in an environment where there are Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons. With the last 4 losses i have been working at this company.I get removed from the work environment at 4-5 weeks depending on how soon i find out im expecting.I am starting to suspect the workplace has something to do with my losses. Please tell me what you think. It's been fairly easy conceiving, its just the sustinence that is a problem.
Thanks.

Certainly toxins have been implicated in RPL, is there a history at your company, this is usually evident and steps usually taken to avoid these types of complictions as liability is quite high. With that said, toxins are not the most likely explanation as it seems you have never had a complete immune workup , I would only move back to toxins as a differential diagnosis once immune issues have been worked out. I work with an excellent immunologist in SA who could complete this workup for us.
Please fill out the questionairre on the website then call us to set up a phone consultation so I can get all the facts before I order any more testing on you. Im sure I can help you at least get answers and most likely solve your issues as well.
I hope I can be of service to you.
