Dr. Braverman,
Hello and thank you in advance for reading my post. You were recommended to me by some ladies on the Long Island Famlies website. I am scared, but trying to find some hope following my second miscarriage in seven months.
Our first loss occured at 15 weeks and was the result of Turners Syndrome. I delivered our little girl and we left the hospital with her tiny footprints.
Our most recent loss occured last Friday at eight weeks. I miscarried at home on our first babies due date. The diagnosis this time was a blighted ovum. I have done some research that suggests that the bo was likely caused by a chromosonal abnormality.
Does this mean that either me or my husband is a carrier of a chromosonal abnormality? Or is this a case of bad luck?
If we are carriers, then can you do something to help us achieve our goal of having a healthy baby and if so, does insurance cover it? We have the Empire (goverment) plan. I have already made an appoitment to meet with you in a few weeks.
I am 30 and my husband is 42...not sure if age may play a role.
Kindest Regards,
Melissa

some blighted ovums can be chromosomal , (we will test both of you to see if you are carriers for a "balanced translocation" . There are certianly other tests we will discuss at our visit. we accept your insurance .
